Our Four Priorities

1. Church Planting

NAMB has made this a priority in Detroit. We must not let the NAMB bear the burden by itself. We want to be intentional about planting churches in the GDBA boundaries. To do this we must work with Send Detroit.

Send Detroit is about planting churches with successful planters within the city of Detroit, within the boundaries of our association. We as an association should be working in partnership with Send Detroit. In discussion with our Send Detroit Coordinator we concluded that there are five areas of our association that need churches and we need to pray for:

  1. Romulus

  2. Highland Park

  3. Southfield

  4. Dearborn

  5. Windsor

We also must be actively praying for our own churches to raise up church planters within our own communities.

We can engage the church planting in Detroit by meeting with them and praying, creating partnerships, and providing sending churches to those church plants within the boundaries of the GDBA.

Priority 2

2. Invest in existing churches

There are two ways that we do that:

  1. Revitalization of struggling churches – We want to help in the efforts of making churches healthy and strong in their communities and in missions. We can do that though training, encouraging, coaching, mentorship, and prayer to revitalize.

  2. Continue to support those churches that are healthy and strong through encouragement, training, and seeking them to become coaches/trainers for other churches needing revitalization.

Priority 3

3. Bridge the gap between urban and suburban churches

We want to see the GDBA become a network of churches who work together spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not just in our communities, but also internationally.

Priority 4

4. Encourage pastors, lay leaders, and pastors' wives

The best way for our churches to come together is through getting to know one another and encouraging one another.

We want to meet regularly together to build the unity within our churches and association. We know that this takes time away from the ministry, however this can have a profound effect on your ministry as we build the relationships within the Association.
